Whenever you are given the chance to learn something new, take it. Remember you can learn a lot from almost anyone if you stay open and find the lessons in experiences that come your way. It’s always a good day when you can learn something new and that should be every day, no matter how small the thing you learn is.

When you are the point person, the leader of a team, you have to be strong for the team. The team relies on you to be there for them when they need support. If you are not strong enough for yourself with more in the tank, do not be surprised if the team crumbles. Forget the weakest link, it’s on you. Lead with grace and strength.

This can suck sometimes but it’s just a fact in life: it’s about the people you know. Now, there are times merit counts sure but more often than not, that person got that opportunity because a friend pointed it to them. A friend dropped their name. A friend to a friend remembered that they are great a that required skill. So, yes, the friendships you build are important. Now, do not build friendships because of what you can get from the people but rather from what you can give to them.

Have you ever typed a message but just before you clicked send, you deleted it and typed something else? Well, that is something we should practice when we talk too. That first message was typed but just before it went out, you thought things through and figured out, well, maybe this isn’t a good idea to share. Exactly!

When people believe something, I mean, truly believe it, it can be a difficult task trying to change their minds. What we have to do is simple: share the point you want to but don’t knock their beliefs. The more you knock their beliefs, the deeper they dig in.
