Lesson 194: Respond Don’t React

Lesson 194: Respond Don’t React
When things happen in our lives, especially things that tick us off, we might be tempted to react and snap back. We shouldn’t. What we should do instead is to take time out for ourselves to think things through and then come up with the right response. Almost every idea that creeps into our minds when we are upset is going to be the wrong one so let those fly in and fly out. Leave the scene. Catch your breath. Think things through then come back with a response.
PROMPT: When was the last time you reacted? If you took time to respond instead, what would the response have been?

Lesson 193: Beware Of Affinity Fraud

Lesson 193: Beware Of Affinity Fraud
According to Wikipedia, Affinity fraud is a form of investment fraud in which the fraudster preys upon members of identifiable groups, such as religious or ethnic communities, language minorities, the elderly, or professional groups. The fraudsters who promote affinity scams frequently are – or successfully pretend to be – members of the group. They often enlist respected community or religious leaders from within the group to spread the word about the scheme, by convincing those people that a fraudulent investment is legitimate and worthwhile. Many times, those leaders become unwitting victims of the fraudster’s ruse. It is just pure evil. Here’s the thing, when someone, even someone in your “circle” tries to pitch you a “wonderful opportunity”, do your own investigation to find out more about it because it just might be a scam.
PROMPT: How do you shield yourself from affinity fraud?

Lesson 192: Blow Their Minds. Often

Lesson 192: Blow Their Minds. Often
As human beings, we love to be wowed so when you are given the opportunity to step up, deliver what you said you would but also make sure that you leave some extra in the tank so you can do things to wow them. Do things to make them take a step back and feel amazing. Do something that will blow their minds. It might seem like a tough ask but when you get to know the person/people you are dealing with, you might be surprised to find out that it doesn’t take that much to wow.
PROMPT: What did you do to blow minds? How did it feel?

Lesson 191: If You Have, Give

Lesson 191: If You Have, Give
We should give and give more. Giving is a beautiful thing and it has a way of coming back to us even when we least expect it. That said, we have to give without expectations. We should give for its own sake. Doing that is a beautiful and liberating act. When you give without any expectation, the act becomes even more beautiful, and should anything come back to you, it feels wonderful because you didn’t expect it to. Give for it’s own sake but also make sure you have before you give.
PROMPT: What was the last thing you gave without expectation?

Lesson 190: Power Reveals Who We Really Are

Lesson 190: Power Reveals Who We Really Are
Power is a wonderful thing. It feels good but it also does something cool: it reveals who the person is at their core. We might be friends when we are on the same level but once power is given to someone, well, they will reveal their true self. The lesson is this, do not let power consume you. Once you are put in the position of authority, make a conscious effort to be benevolent. Listen. Empathize and support your colleagues.
PROMPT: How do you handle power?
