To lead, you have to be prepared to sacrifice. It comes with the territory. If you are not willing to sacrifice then you shouldn’t pick up the mantle of leadership. Remember, leadership is voluntary (mostly) and if you are not up to it, it’s ok to let go and follow. There’s nothing wrong with being a follower if you are not willing to lead.

To grow you have to study. To grow you have to keep learning. However, to be sure you actually know that thing, it isn’t just enough to put it into practice but to be able to share that knowledge, to teach it. If you know something, don’t just keep it to yourself, share it and watch it grow.

If you are given the opportunity to lead, you have to make sure you are not just delegating but that you are leading from the front. It’s easier to have your team get on board when they see you are working as hard as they are if not even harder. When you push yourself, you get better and you grow.

When you are working on a team project, focus on your task while thinking of the bigger scale. Understand that no matter the size of the task you are doing, it is important to the project as a whole.
