Lessons With A King

At times, parents design their children’s life. That isn’t wrong. However, once the child feels they might prefer going on a different path, I believe the parents should let the child do that. Sure things might turn out bad but it happened on their own terms. We should live the life we want and whatever comes out of it, we should face it head-on because it is what we wanted to do.

PROMPT: Are you living life on your terms?

If you want to do something, go ahead and do it. Understand this: not everyone will care for it and that’s fine. As long as you want to do it and feel comfortable doing it, go ahead and do it. It’s for you and that one person that will get it.

PROMPT: What is your current project?

If you create something, you should be comfortable with getting them critiqued. In fact, if you don’t have that, maybe, just maybe no one saw it and that isn’t what you want, right?

PROMPT: Do you have critics?

When we put our effort into working on a project, we almost always expect accolades. However, there are times were things just don’t go the way we want and all we get are not-so-nice critiques. We need to pay attention to them because we might learn how to make our work better.

PROMPT: What was the last critique you were given? How useful was it?

The South Park guys made an amazing film “Team America World Police” and there’s a scene where a character talks about people as dicks, pussies, and assholes. Go check it out on YouTube. Well, don’t be an asshole. Don’t be someone that people just can’t stand. Don’t be the person that people don’t want to have anything to do with. Remember, the world is super tiny and it’s a lot easier to do good than to be an asshole.
