From Brene Brown’s Dare To Lead: “Get a one-inch piece by one-inch piece of paper and write down the names of the people whose opinions matter to you. It needs to be small because it forces you to edit.” Your square squad is the very short list of people whose opinions matter. These are the people who care enough about you to be honest, rather than telling you what you want to hear. They should not be people who just blindly agree with you no matter what. I call them my Avengers.

PROMPT: How many people are on your square squad?

I’m always remixing my work because every time I go back to something I created, I get to see things in a brand new light. It’s beautiful and it keeps growing. Go back to the work you’ve created and see what elements you can remix. It’s a beautiful thing.

PROMPT: What old work of yours would you love to remix?

Change isn’t always welcomed so when you have a new idea, no matter how amazing it might be, it’s a good idea to introduce it slowly. Keep what they are used to and introduce elements of the new idea then keep building. Bit by bit, till the new idea seems the norm to everyone.

PROMPT: What new idea are you introducing?

If you stay rigid, you will break easily. If you are flexible, you have longer staying power. It’s a good idea to embrace flexibility in everything you do.

PROMPT: How flexible are you?

People get hooked on slot machines because of the power of variable rewards. One push might give you a thousand dollars and the next ten pulls give you nothing but pull number 11 might give you ten dollars. The variable rate of rewards keeps the person hooked. When you are dealing with people or situations that have variable rewards, it’s a good idea to take a step back and think things through before you get completely sucked in.
