In business, if you are not making sales, you are going to close shop. What you want to do is make sure you have those sales coming in. However, don’t join the sleazy marketing train. Be diligent in your approach and embrace permission marketing. Build trust and you’ll have lots of repeat clients. There are many resources to learn how to sell so learn and then put things into practice.

What one person values might mean nothing to someone else so make sure you understand what their value is before you get into any type of relationship with them. Make sure your values align.

PROMPT: What does value mean to you?

If given the option to choose trust and attention, it’s a good idea to go for Trust. Attention is fickle and just as easily as you got the person’s attention, something or someone else can get their attention too. However trust takes a long time to build but once it’s built, it lasts way longer. It’s better to have deeper roots than to have a flash in the pan.

PROMPT: Which do you prefer, trust or attention?

If you have to do it, set a time to do it. I’ve found that if you don’t schedule things, there’s a very good chance you won’t do that thing. Once there’s a set time for it to happen, you are most likely going to be focused on making it happen. Put it in your calendar then go to work.

PROMPT: What do you have a set time for?

Things won’t happen right when we want them to. That’s ok. That’s life. However, while we are waiting for the thing we’d love to happen, we shouldn’t just sit back. Nope, we should be proactive. It could be the time to work on something you’ve been wanting to. It could be time to learn something new. Heck, it could even be time to look at other options because the thing you are waiting for might not even happen. So don’t just sit down for the thing to happen, do something while waiting.
