In my city, every day another building is demolished as construction begins on yet another project. Here’s the thing though, when it comes to demolishing, it takes days however the construction takes months and months. It’s super easy to break things down than to build things up. So when given the option, always pick building things. Is it the difficult option of the two? Sure but it is the better of the two.

PROMPT: What will be the next thing you build?

People are too busy worrying about their lives to think about you so stop worrying about what people think of you and live your life. Nope, you are not that interesting. Sure there might be a handful of people interested in you but they have things they are way more interested in than why you did that thing so if you want to do it, do it. Focus on yourself and your life and stop worrying about what they think. Understand this: they rarely, if ever, think of you.

PROMPT: Stop worrying about what people think of you

We are responsible for creating the person we are.  Sure we might have had fucked up childhoods or something might have happened to give us a warped sense of humanity. However, we should take these and create the person we want to be. We get to create the person we want to be and I believe that’s a freaking awesome thing.

PROMPT: What version of yourself are you working on now?

There are times we have to speak up but there are also times we need to stay quiet and listen. The issue arrives when we flip the two and speak when we should be listening or vice versa. It takes a lot of learning and growth to know when we should speak up or stay silent. However, once we know when we should speak, we should speak up and when it isn’t time, we should stay silent.

PROMPT: Have you spoken up when you really shouldn’t have?

The world is noisy and we have to make time for ourselves to stay silent, to embrace the silence too. It helps us grow. It helps us see things in a better light plus we all need that quiet.

PROMPT: How comfortable are you with staying silent?
