The rain is guaranteed. No matter how much you plan, there’s always the chance that things can go awry. What we need to learn to get better at is to enjoy the rain. Enjoying the rain is about being highly adaptable and open to finding different ways to get to your goal. One thing though, as long as you are learning in the process, you are growing. #LessonsWithAKing

It’s ok to be the expert at that thing but also make sure you are learning new things. Make sure you focus on your core competencies but do not be afraid to learn new things. All you are doing is adding more bows in your quiver and that is never a bad thing. #LessonsWithAKing

Go deep. Go hard. But also make sure you make time to enjoy the fruit of your labour. I’m all for celebrating wins as we move on to the new project. There’s nothing wrong with taking some time to savour the win before moving on. Understand this: each project comes with its own idiosyncrasies but always make time to enjoy your dessert before you move on. Remember you’ve earned it. #LessonsWithAKing

Last summer was intense but for a good reason. We all saw a man get murdered by the police in front of our eyes… in just under nine minutes. Shocking. Jarring. The world spoke and we have seen changes but a lot more needs to be done. There are times we have to be quiet but at times you need to cause a ruckus to get your voice heard.
